Donations are used to purchase equipment for the players.
The Oahe YMCA, working with the Governor staff and players, are offering YMCA Football Skills Camp. Coaches from both the Governor’s staff and current players will run this camp which will stress the fundamentals of football and improving the players’ fitness level. During the first two weeks of camp, coaches will work on a variety of fundamental skills and concepts. Contact will be minimal during the first two weeks of camp. Pads will be handed out and contact will increase gradually. Skills and concepts covered during the camp: passing, catching, ball handling, tackling, blocking, special teams, position instruction and more.

Dates: June 5, 6, 7, 12, 13, 14, 19, 20, 21, 26, 27, 28
Times: 9:30am – 10:30am for 3rd and 4th graders and 10:45am – 11:45am for 5th and 6th graders
Days: Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays
Cost: $70.00 members/ $85.00 non-members
Who: Camp is open to 3rd – 6th graders (Fall 2018).
Where: Camp will be held at the Riggs lower practice field.
Tackle Football League - Fall 2018
The Oahe Family YMCA is happy to offer Youth Tackle Football this fall. The league is open to boys and girls, going into grades 3rd - 7th. Space is limited, so make sure to register early. You can pick up registration forms at the YMCA beginning in May.
WHAT: A safe introduction to the rules, the skills and the game of tackle football. Games are played.
WHO: This program is open to 3rd – 7th grade boys and girls.
WHEN: Tackle football will meet Monday and Thursday evenings. Football begins in September and runs through October. Coaches or the “Y” will call each player with time of practice.
WHERE: Tackle football league will be held at the Oahe Softball Complex.
REGISTER: At the YMCA, 900 East Church. Early Bird Registration begins May 8th and ends May 31st. Regular Registration begins June 1st and ends July 31st. Late Registration will begin August 1st and ends August 5th. Program is limited. Click here for a registration form.
Early Bird: $60.00 members/$75.00 (May 1st-31st)
Regular: $70.00 members/$85.00 non-members. (June/July)
Late: $80.00 members/$95.00 non-members.
EQUIPMENT: The player is responsible for providing their mouth piece (required), and shoes. All other equipment is provided by the Oahe Family YMCA but must be returned at the end of the season. Equipment check out will be in August. Equipment must be returned in October or the player will be charged a fee.
