Youth Sports

The YMCA offers a wide variety opportunities for kids to participate in sports. All YMCA Youth Sports follow the philosophy that every kid deserves the chance to play and have fun! YMCA Youth Sports are designed to teach specific skills of the sport, introduce the idea of teamwork, teaching sportsmanship, demonstrating positive values, getting parents involved and for everyone to experience the joy of playing!

Coming up:

Pre-School Soccer (4-6 year olds)

An introduction to the basic skills of soccer.  Players will receive a soccer ball on the last night of the program.  This program is open to 4-6 year olds both boys and girls and will meet Tuesdays from 6:30-7:15pm, September 22nd, 29th and October 6th.

You will not receive a phone call – just show up on days/time listed above.  Soccer will meet at the Oahe Softball Complex, 800 South Buchanan

COST:  $16.00 members/$26.00 non-members.  (Price includes soccer ball.)
If you cannot afford the fee please contact the YMCA and ask about our financial assistance program – PWY.  DEADLINE:  This program is limited to the first 48 players registered.


KINDERGARTEN FOOTBALL   

A great introduction to the game of football.  Players will work on basic skills, positions and are introduced to game play.   Players receive a football at the end of the season!  This program is open to Kindergarten boys and girls.  Flag football will meet Tuesdays at 5:45-6:30pm.  Football begins Tuesday, Sept. 15th and runs through October 6th (4 weeks).  

Football will meet at Oahe Softball Complex – 800 South Buchanan

REGISTER:  At the YMCA.  Deadline for registration is Wednesday, September 9th or when the program fills because this is a limited enrollment program.
 
FEE:  $24.00 members/$34.00 non-members.

Flag Football (1st & 2nd Graders)

Flag Football is a safe introduction to the rules and skills of football.  This program is open to 1st and 2nd grade boys and girls.  Flag football will meet Tuesdays at 6:45-7:45pm.  Football begins September 15th and runs through October 20th.  You will not receive a phone call – just show up on days/time listed.  Football will meet at the Oahe Softball Complex - 800 South Buchanan.

REGISTER:  At the YMCA.  Deadline for registration is Wednesday, September 9th.  Players registered before the deadline are guaranteed acceptance in this program. 
 
FEE:  $24.00 members/$34.00 non-members.  

TACKLE FOOTBALL LEAGUE - FALL 2020

The Oahe Family YMCA is happy to offer Youth Tackle Football this fall. The league is open to boys and girls, going into grades 3rd - 6th.  Space is limited, so make sure to register early.  You can pick up registration forms at the YMCA beginning in May. 

WHAT: A safe introduction to the rules, the skills and the game of tackle football. Games are played.

WHO:  This program is open to 3rd – 6th grade boys and girls.

WHEN: Tackle football will meet Monday and Thursday evenings. Football begins in September and runs through October. Tackle football will meet Monday and Thursday evenings.  Football begins Thursday, September 10th and runs through Thursday, October 22nd.  Coaches or the “Y” will call each player with time of practice.

WHERE: Tackle football league will be held at the Oahe Softball Complex.

REGISTER: At the YMCA, 900 East Church.  Early Bird Registration begins May 4th and ends May 31st. Regular Registration begins June 1st and ends July 31st. Late Registration will begin August 1st and ends August 10th. Program is limited.  Click here for a registration form.

FEE:

Early Bird:  $60.00 members/$75.00 non-members.  (May 1st-31st)

Regular: $70.00 members/$85.00 non-members. (June/July)

Late: $80.00 members/$95.00 non-members.

EQUIPMENT: The player is responsible for providing their mouth piece (required), and shoes.  All other equipment is provided by the Oahe Family YMCA but must be returned at the end of the season.  Equipment check out will be in August.  Equipment must be returned in October or the player will be charged a fee.
