Youth Sports

The YMCA offers a wide variety opportunities for kids to participate in sports. All YMCA Youth Sports follow the philosophy that every kid deserves the chance to play and have fun! YMCA Youth Sports are designed to teach specific skills of the sport, introduce the idea of teamwork, teaching sportsmanship, demonstrating positive values, getting parents involved and for everyone to experience the joy of playing!

 

Coming up:

Coed Soccer (Kindergarten-3rd grades)

Soccer is a fast paced game well suited to girls and boys of all ages and abilities offered to kindergarten through 3rd grade, boys and girls.  


Soccer will meet Tuesday and Thursday evenings, begins Tuesday, April 6th - Thursday, May 13th (6 weeks) from 6:00-6:45pm and will meet at Jefferson School Field.

REGISTER:  At the YMCA.  Deadline for registration is March 29th.   
 
FEE:  $36.00 members/$46.00 non-members.  
         (If you cannot afford to pay the fee just ask about our financial assistance program-PWY.) 

Preschool Soccer (4-5 year olds)

Preschool soccer is an introduction to the basic skills of soccer and the players receive a soccer ball on the last night of the program.  Preschool soccer is offered to 4-6 year olds both boys and girls (If your 6 year old is in Kindergarten they need to sign up for YMCA Co-ed Soccer.  Co-ed soccer is offered on Tuesday and Thursday evenings.  Forms are available at the YMCA.)

Soccer will meet Mondays from 6:00-6:45pm.  April 19th, 26th and May 3rd at Jefferson School's field. 

Register at the YMCA, 900 East Church - registration forms are available at the front desk.

COST:  $21.00 members/$31.00 non-member.  

DEADLINE:  This program is limited to the first 48 players registered.

Soccer Camp - June 14-18

Challenger International Soccer Camps (staffed by coaches from Europe, Brazil and the U.S.) teach a fun, technical, and tactical based curriculum, revolving around five of the world’s leading soccer nations: Brazil, France, Spain, UK and the US. The International Soccer Camp will feature a number of new elements in the curriculum and will also include a ground breaking technology feature providing players with an app based platform which will help them prepare before camp, learn skills quicker and more efficiently during the camp, and then help them to continue their education and skill development with camp homework and on-going virtual training throughout the season.
