Summer Camp Day Staff

Position Overview: As a Summer Camp Day Staff member, you will play a vital role in creating a safe, fun, and enriching environment for children attending our summer camp. You’ll lead activities, supervise campers, and help foster a sense of community and belonging.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and lead engaging activities, including sports, arts and crafts, games, and outdoor adventures.

  • Ensure the safety and well-being of all campers by maintaining a positive and inclusive environment.

  • Act as a role model, demonstrating the YMCA’s core values of Caring, Honesty, Respect, and Responsibility.

  • Assist with daily camp operations, including setup, cleanup, and transitions between activities.

  • Communicate effectively with campers, parents, and fellow staff members.

Qualifications:

  • Enthusiastic, energetic, and passionate about working with children.

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.

  • Previous experience in childcare, education, or camp settings is a plus.

  • Must be at least 15 years old.

  • CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).

Compensation:

  • Starting pay is $14 an hour.

  • If you have, or are willing to complete, lifeguard certification training, your starting pay will increase by $1/hour after training is successfully completed.
