Full Time Assistant Teacher

The Assistant Teacher supports the teaching staff in implementing childcare programs and assists in providing high quality childcare services to children and parents that focus on the YMCA core values. This position provides direct supervision to a group of children in a classroom and creates positive, nurturing relationships with children, while building cooperative relationships with parents/caregivers. This position will work with children 3 to 5 years old. The hours are Monday-Friday between 7:15 am and 5:30 pm. Full-Time staff receive a family YMCA membership and discounted prices on the Daycare & other programs. May assist in other classrooms on occasion. JOB REQUIREMENTS, PREFERRED EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND WORK EXPERIENCE: • Minimum of 16 years of age.
• One or more year's related experience preferred.
• Satisfactory background check.
• Current CPR/First Aid certification (may be obtained upon hire through employer) Essential Functions:
• Availability to work varied hours; early mornings, days, early evenings.
• Assist with the implementation of daily plans and activities.
• Assist with supervising the children, classroom, and all activities.
• Maintaining child/staff ratios within the licensing law requirements.
• Customer service skills for greeting members, parents/caregivers and guests in a friendly manner with effective and positive communication.
• Support classroom and behavior management consistently according to guidelines.
• Maintain confidentiality and display professionalism.
• Must have flexibility and the ability to adapt to changing circumstances.
• A willingness to commit to the mission of the YMCA, promote the YMCA's core values and areas of focus into daily work.
• Attend staff meetings and parent conferences.
• Assist with special events as needed.
• Complete other duties as assigned.

Part Time Current Openings:

Now that kids have shuffled off to college, the YMCA has some openings they need filled. The first is for students age 15 and older. The second is for students age 14 and older. Contact Lisa Maunu at the Y for more information: 224-1683 or lisa@oaheymca.org

Part Time Assistant Teacher:

Kidstop After School Program Staff


The YMCA is currently seeking part time staff to work in the Kid Stop After School Program. An attention to safety is essential. The hours are Monday through Friday, 3:00 to 5:30. A background in working with children is preferred. You must be 15 years of age or older. Accepting applications until the position is filled. Applications are available at the front desk. As a staff member at the Y you will also receive a free membership. Salary is negotiable based on experience.  
 

Child Watch Staff 


The YMCA is currently seeking part time staff to work in the Child watch Program. An attention to safety is essential. The hours are Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday 5:25 to 7:30PM and every other Saturday 8:00 to 11:00 AM . A background in working with children is preferred. You must be 14 years of age or older. Accepting applications until the position is filled. Applications are available at the front desk. As a staff member at the Y you will also receive a free membership. Salary is negotiable based on experience.
