March 25, 2020 Update

Dear YMCA Friends and Family,

As the COVID-19 pandemic continues to unfold, our commitment to youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility will not waiver. Our Y is working closely with local, state, and federal authorities, as well as with other Ys to respond to the unique needs of our communities. Per Governor Noem’s order to suspend or modify business practices, and as recommended by CDC guidelines and YMCA of the USA, the Oahe Family YMCA will remain closed until further notice.

While we all navigate these uncharted waters together, it goes without saying that the COVID-19 has created enormous uncertainty. However, how we all respond is within our control. As the Oahe Family YMCA works with local agencies to respond to the new challenges our community faces, we will also work tirelessly to provide our members with opportunities to connect, learn and build healthy lifestyles through our social media and other platforms. Our methods may need to be modified temporarily, but our mission remains ever strong.
Again, I want to tell you that we cannot do this without you. Your support today ensures our ability to work within the community, as we come together to put this pandemic behind us. As before, I humbly ask that if you are able to continue your membership to support our efforts, that you please do so. However, if this is simply not possible for you and your circumstances, please reach out, either by email at membership@oaheymca.org or by calling the YMCA at (605)224-1683, during the hours of 9 am - 4 pm, Monday – Friday. We will work with you to make the best of this difficult time.

We are thankful for your continued commitment to the Y as we all strive to keep our community safe, strong and vibrant.

With gratitude,

Aaron Fabel Becky Burke
CEO Board President
