Youth Sports

The YMCA offers a wide variety opportunities for kids to participate in sports. All YMCA Youth Sports follow the philosophy that every kid deserves the chance to play and have fun! YMCA Youth Sports are designed to teach specific skills of the sport, introduce the idea of teamwork, teaching sportsmanship, demonstrating positive values, getting parents involved and for everyone to experience the joy of playing!


Coming Summer 2017

Learn to Train Camp (2nd-4th Grades)

Camp will be a group training program introducing general fundamental movement, speed, agility and flexibility skills and will meet Mondays/ Wednesdays or Tuesdays/Thursdays from 11:15am-Noon for 4 weeks.

Session 1:  Tuesday /Thursday camp runs June 5th – June 29th.

Session 2:  Monday/Wednesday camp runs July 3rd – July 26th

DEADLINE:  Session 1 deadline is Wednesday, May 31st & Session 2 deadline is Wednesday, June 28th

 $40.00 members/$55.00 non-members – Register at the Oahe Family YMCA front desk.  

This programs are limited to the first 16 participants registered.

Athletic Performance Enhancement Camp (5th-9th Graders)

Camp will be a group training program to improve fundamental movement, speed, agility, flexibility, and core strength. Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 10:00am-11:00am beginning Monday, June 5th runs thru Thursday, July 27th.  5th – 9th grade girls and boys (2017-2018 School year)

DEADLINE:  Wednesday, May 31st.   $165.00 members/$180.00 non-members.  

 This programs are limited to the first 24 participants registered.

Football Camp (3rd-6th Grades fall 2017)

The Oahe YMCA, working with the Governor and Stanley County Football staff and players, are offering YMCA Football Skills Camp.  Coaches from both the Governors and Stanley County’s football staff and current players will run this camp which will stress the fundamentals of football and improving the players’ fitness level.  During the first two weeks of camp, coaches will work on a variety of fundamental skills and concepts. Contact will be minimal during the first two weeks of camp. Pads will be handed out and contact will increase gradually.

Skills and concepts covered during the camp:  passing, catching, ball handling, tackling, blocking, special teams, position instruction and more.

Camp will meet June 6th - June 29th on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays at Riggs Lower practice field from 9:45 AM - 10:45 AM for 3rd and 4th graders or 11:00 AM - 12:00 for 5th and 6th graders

$60.00 members/ $75.00 non-members  

Players must be pre-registered for camp.  Deadline for camp is Monday, May 29.

British Soccer Camp (4-12 year olds)

Oahe YMCA is pleased to announce a partnership with Challenger Sports, providers of the most popular soccer camp in North America, to host a week long British Soccer camp during the week of 6/19/2017 - 6/23/2017 at Jefferson School.

The camps will run Monday through Friday and each child will be coached by a member of Challenger’s International coaching staff flown to the USA exclusively to work on these programs.
Challenger’s British Soccer Camp is more than a week of drills and skills. In addition to taking part in a daily regime of foot skill development (through the 1,000 touches curriculum), technical and tactical practices and daily ‘World Cup’ tournament style plays, each child will be treated to a rich cultural experience and lessons on respect, responsibility, integrity, leadership and sportsmanship. Challenger’s custom built camps focus on individual player development and are delivered by a team of passionate international coaching staff handpicked to coach your player! 
Each camper will receive a FREE camp T-shirt, soccer ball, soccer poster, individual skills performance evaluation and free access to an educational soccer website. In addition, any child who signs up online before 5/5/2017 will receive a genuine British Soccer replica Jersey valued at $39.
